They litter the ground like snowflakes and then melt away.

It's been a busy week. Flew out to Toronto into 6 degree weather with a -6 windchill. Because they use the Celcius up in Canadia, the pilot helpfully informed us it was -15. Ugh. My lips and cheeks got some windburn sometime sunday or monday, with the result that I look like I'm wearing blush and lipstick even more than I normally do.

NANOG was pretty good- surprisingly, 430 people showed up- even though it was *Toronto in February*. It gave everyone something easy to complain about, anyway. Ran into [livejournal.com profile] rekoil, which was very nice. I also skipped out Monday evening to go get a tour of the XM Studio and hang out with [livejournal.com profile] kelowna. Dinner was very tasty, and almost warmed me up enough to not mind the cold so much. There was also a sulky pretty emo boy at the table next to us, except that he was surprisingly muscled and wearing a bright orange technical shirt that did nothing but cling to said muscles. I was fascinated by his red red lips, though on reflection it was probably just because he was windburned too.

The club was insanely low-key, but honestly I didn't mind. Got my butt shaking and stomping on to a few songs, laughed at the awkwardly intense teenagers in molly-ringwald-dresses, and philosophised with mz k. Was utterly surprised to discover that it was 0130 by the time we left. Got back to the hotel and ended up chatting in the lobby until an ungodly 0300- given that I had to be downstairs by 0800. I did it, too, but I'm still short on sleep.

Had some really good conversations with various people, and I'm very glad to have gone. Flew home last night, and tumbled into bed around 0100.

Today, managed to sneak in a lunchtime presentation on statistical relational learning between my cs lab and lecture. It made me a few minutes late for my lecture, but it was defintely worth it. The room was small enough that they asked people they didnt recognize to introduce themselves, and I merely said that I was an undergrad that had wandered in. They seemed a bit puzzled, but let it slide. I'm going to try and milk this semester for all it's worth, even if I am an undergrad.

Presently am hanging out in Tryst, working on homework. There are three pretty boys looming over a sofa at Tryst, and so I am unabashedly looking at them.

And there they go, whoosh.
