summers in dc

So far, today has been a three-shower-day. There is just no escaping the sticky heat hanging over the city like enveloping fog. Everything moves in a torpor.

The annual exodus is in full swing. This morning there was just the haze, and shimmering tarmac, languidly chirping birds and the welcome errant breeze. Streets were empty, save for a few hardy souls pretending to exercise.

On the upside, now is the time to enjoy DC's restaurants. And cooling mixed drinks.
