Hurrying on the way to class yesterday with a still-warm print of my draft, I walked through a circus.

No, really.

The McKeldin mall had been turned into a carnival, with a bouncy castle, a water slide, spin the wheel, jugglers, barkers, clowns, prizes, and a petting zoo.

I shook my head and ran to class.

The hullabaloo was still going on after class, and I wandered over to the petting zoo:

While I was staring bemusedly at the angry pony (he kept biting the poor sheep, who in this picture is wondering just how to get back at him), a shiny orb caught my eye.

A tiny girl was wandering around the crowd, juggling shiny objects. She looked awfully familiar... she... wasn't she a contortionist? I walked up to her 'Did you used to perform at the old Dime Museum in Baltimore?" "Sometimes." She looked at me quizzically. "Were you there the last day, doing contortion?" "Wait!" She cocked her head at me, "were you the ladybug girl?"

There you have it. The Amazing Trinket was performing at UMD, and not only that, she *remembered me*. We chatted for a bit before I had to go. She and the rest of her troupe, The Cheeky Monkeys, will be performing at The Palace of Wonders on 12 June. Go see them! I plan to.
