destruction almost complete
Aug. 2nd, 2009 08:40 amToday we should get the remaining cabinets down and the stove removed.
The stove, as it turns out, *wasn't* what was leaking gas, it was the fittings. After removing the drywall behind it, we found another run of gas pipe with a shut-off valve before the stove and it seems that somewhere between the valves was the remaining gas leak. Still, it doesn't really fit in with my sleek new appliances, so it will go. Despite being a bit dated, it's actually a fine jenn-aire stove: a slide-in dual-fuel (electric convection oven) with downdraft and swappable burners on the left (spare grill attachment included).
It will go to the aforementioned Community Forklift unless someone else has desperate need of it.
I need to start actually drawing up plans for the cabinetry.
