Actually, pretty much wrecked. I've been traveling with only a week of downtime between trips since the end of august, and I got a lovely cold/flu a couple of weeks ago.
Portland, DC, Berlin, Zurich, Geneva, Zurich, DC (PLAGUE), Minneapolis, DC... and next week Detroit.
Poor Nick has not had much quality time with me. I haven't had much quality time with me. I really just want to sleep for a week, but Nick's granddad is in town so we will be doing the family thing all weekend.
No house for us in sight, but Nick's sister just got a contract on a lovely house in LA, winning out over the 24 other bids. Whew. There was much rejoicing last night. And really, I still haven't seen a house that makes me go "what can I do to win this?" It's been more a matter of "you'll do; you have potential."
"You'll do" is usually a bad way to embark on a long relationship. I should probably keep that in mind. Well, I mean, I do-- I'm not heartbroken when we lose out. This last one, though, was insane. Someone paid $701,000 in an all-cash offer ($222,000 over ask, for those keeping count) for a listing that said, among other things, "wear a mask and gloves." More power to 'em.
I guess we'll keep looking. But man am I tired.
