It seems a bit of Poland arrived in Rockville last November: The Kielbasa Factory!

I will be stopping by this weekend to get real sausage and pierogies. Oh yes, I will.

Mmmm, sausage.

An update on school: I forgot to mention more class shuffling. I dropped art altogether (sorry, morgan!). It seems the entire art department is determined to force people to come to class. I'd be more sympathetic if they didn't all also say that as it is a studio course, you're not going to learn anything if you don't show up, and thus your grade will suffer. Well, if my grade is going to suffer anyway, then why have the policy? These kinds of logical disconnects drive me batty at times. I figure, I'd much rather take weekend art classes from the Corcoran, anyway. Cheaper, and less stress. But I couldn't just drop the class and hope something else would turn up- UMD craftily only lets you add and drop classes of equal credits during the schedule adjustment period *on the same day*. You also can't add something in an overlapping time slot without first dropping the other course. Which can result in a nasty game of musical chairs. literally.

Anyway, a seat in a Core course opened up in a salubrious time slot, and so now I'm in what is essentially a womens lit class.

It's great for eavesdropping.

I'm happy with the semester so far. I'm going to be missing two days of classes for NANOG in a week and a half, but all of my current profs are willing to work with me and not penalize me for it.

But before I go I have a paper I need to review for IEEE Communications. *sigh*

...

So, my cheap chinese laptop has been acting up more and more. I've finally given in and bought my second Apple laptop, about five years after the first one. I'm not in love with the Air, not at all. I hate the size of it- it's too large, and unwieldy with it. But with my discount, it's a reasonable price, and it's light enough, and the backlit keyboard is nice. I ended up buying the last one in Clarendon, a few hours ago. So it took them two days to sell 40 of them. Eh. Seems a lot of people aren't thrilled about it.
