like, whaaaa?
Mar. 6th, 2008 01:43 pmSo, the sun is shining, and I'm plopped under one of the soothing sprawling firs incongruously hemmed in by parking lots and sidewalks. (There is a small grove of three in an island in the lot behind the chapel that... I don't know. I usually detour to walk beneath them because they are just so peaceful. Despite being in a sea of concrete.)
So, there I am, leaning over my laptop, back soaking up the sun, and a bright voice breaks into my consciousness. "Hey, Jenn!"
I admit it, 30 years of hearing my name hasn't broken me of looking up. So I look up, knowing that there is no way that it's actually for me. And there, with a golden fall of hair cascading over a rich red coat, large sunglasses glinting in the light- is a sorority girl. Actually saying hi to me. Waving hi, in fact. I can safely say that is a first for me.
And now I've got to get out of this sunbeam and struggle off to class.
(I will grant Apple this: the MacBook Air's screen, in direct sunlight, is wonderfully legible. I am utterly amazed.)
Reminder: tonight is Food and Friend's Dining out for Life event. Find a restaurant, and feel good about eating out.
