Aug. 3rd, 2008 12:02 amNick and I dragged Kitty out to Dino for dinner: scallops drowned in butter and herbs and braised on the shell. apricots stuffed with mascarpone and wrapped in pancetta. burrata. slow-cooked milk-fed suckling pig. risotto with morels. boar and rabbit stew over polenta. black peppercorn and vanilla ice cream.
So full. So content.
...
In other news, Nick finally finished wrestling my new ceiling fan into place. It rules. I was pretty sure I wanted two, and now I know for sure, but I didn't want to order two sight unseen. Two variable high-speed fans are on either end of a sweeper bar, which itself can rotate. All controlled by remote control. So air can circulate throughout the room, or you can just aim a stream of air directly where you're sitting. It's vaguely industrial-looking up there, but it definitely goes with the space.
I am very happy! And now I can stand to be in the apartment long enough to get my A/C fixed.
