Ok, I admit, I really shouldn't be taking these introductory CS courses. Except, I didn't make the rules, I just play by them. And since the rules say I *can't* take a course like Computer Networks or Network Security without taking three years of CS classes I have no interest in, and the department will not let me into those classes anyway (I asked), well... *shrug*. Gotta take something.
Still, first day of classes Nelson looked at me and said "I really don't think you can take thees class if you ahave taken 131... definitely 132, no." Syllabus says very clearly that you can not take it if you have *completed* 132. Which means, my only-took-131 self can definitely take this course. I checked with the department just in case, and then informed Nelson on my way to my next class that he was stuck with me.
Yesterday, however, was 'The science behind computing', and I'd not met either of the profs before so I should have been stealthy. Except my boss is taking it, too (hey! we're both non-majors!), and they do know *him*. He asked a question, and Joe went to raise his hand... he looked up at us, and from the front of the room he said 'Yes, Joe, I know you know the answer. And what the hell are you guys doing in here anyway?" ...and then went on lecturing.
Afterwards, he walked up and looked down at us, and said resignedly, "I suppose you two are here to make me miserable?" There was only one answer to that... "Yup!"
Actually, both profs are good lecturers, and I found it to be an enjoyable class. So there.
How the semester will progress remains to be seen.

Loft is fully framed. 9 days until we have no more time.
