2008 was rung in with tasty delights and good friends. Then, after watching possibly the funniest Top Gear clip ever Nick and I wended our careful way home. Only to discover one of my neighbors had parked in my spot, because someone had parked in his. Fortunately, I had the emergency back-up spot, and we went in while I called the police to ticket the bugger (not my neighbor, the other guy).

The patrol car showed up in record time; I think there possibly may have been a lottery to determine who got to escape the madness on 18th. After writing the ticket, they camped out in the alley for a while, eating a snack. Honestly, I think they were just happy to talk to someone who wasn't drunk. Because? Adams Morgan was a nightmare last night.

Back in september, I'd ordered some lights from the Ingo Maurer store in soho. They finally arrived Monday afternoon! This morning, I got up and set to playing with them. After blithely ignoring warnings that all assembly should be performed by a licensed electrician, I set one up in the hallway.

Cleaning continues apace. And I think I have to go to work tomorrow. Argh! I will pull through, somehow.

that was a good top gear. I just finished gathering all the top gears a couple weeks ago and have been making care packages for car-friends (and girlfriend). I have a friend who's eyeing the new M3, and had to send him the segment they just did where they unveiled the "cock-o-meter" just for bmws.
